My Review
My Rating: 3.5 Stars

I was granted complimentary access to I Am One with the Universe as part of my participation in a review tour for this title with Goddess Fish Promotions. Thank you for the opportunity! My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.
I Am One with the Universe is a cute storybook that pairs beautiful illustrations with 2-line sentiments along the theme of, as the title suggests, being one with the universe. This is a great story for calming kids and helping them find peace and a sense of belonging, and I can see this becoming a family favourite for many!
The illustrations are beautiful and I very much appreciate the formatting that puts text on its own dedicated page that is also somewhat illustrated and not left as plain black text on a white background. The calming purple theme is very much appreciated! I must admit here that I didn’t pay super close attention volunteering for “kid lit” review tours recently and didn’t realize I would be reviewing 3+ books by the same author pair all in short succession, but this means I can comment that all of their books are formatted this way, and I love it.
The reason this one is getting a 3.5 instead of the full 4 that I’ve rated their other titles, besides having less of a substantive moral lesson to teach and being more of just a soothing bedtime read, is the font. The font chosen for every single text page tilts each letter on alternating angles, like alphabet fridge magnets in a cartoon, and I, as a 34 year old native English language reader, struggled to focus on the text and read it. How much harder will it be to kids who are just learning or any reader with learning disabilities like dyslexia? Tellwell, I’ve given this sort of criticism on several children’s books through you over the years. Please stop letting your formatters do this!
