A stirring rebellion. Unrelenting assassins. Conspiracies abound.
Two queens.
One rules by fear, her citizens laboring to fund the lavish lifestyle of the wizard class. The other believes in justice and compassion, earning her the love of her subjects…and the enmity of her wizard peers.
Both will die.
In one wizardom, a secret rebellion brews. A hero to the people rises, fueled by a mysterious sorcerer’s blood magic. But at what cost?
Conspiracies and assassins lurk in every shadow, threatening the throne of another nation. The scheming wizard behind it will stop at nothing to claim the crown. Yet, even he is a pawn.
What force is behind it all? What is their endgame?

My Review
My Rating: 4 Stars
Consider liking my review on Goodreads.
I was granted complimentary access to God King Rising as part of my participation in a blog tour for this title with Storytellers on Tour. Thank you to all those involved in affording me this opportunity! My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.
God King Rising is a surprisingly short book for the epic fantasy subgenre, but man does it pack a punch! This book is full of edge-of-your-seat cinematic action that will not let you even think of feeling bored. Kohanek is a seasoned author in the genre, and it shows.
This world is beautifully crafted, and although I haven’t read his previous series that this one spins off of, I do feel like I got enough descriptions and explanations to understand the setting just fine. My tripping point is character development in between all the action. Having not read that prior series I’m not sure who’s an established character and who’s new, but I do feel like some of these characters had their big moments in another book and this is just another blip on their life timelines after their personal big story moment.
Overall this is a promising start to what sounds like a great new series, and I do recommend this book to all fans of the genre.

It sounds like an interesting book 🙂 I appreciate you mentioning how you found it as someone who hasn’t read the previous series!
Thanks for reading and reviewing my book! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yes, Jace and Narine in particular have a ton of development in Fate of Wizardoms, and it is BEST if readers begin there for the best reading experience. Even so, I think they are a fun couple in any story and I hope others feel that way as well.
