Meet Jenna

Hey there! My name is Jenna and I’m the freelance editor & illustrator behind this website. I’m Canadian, born and raised in the lower mainland area of British Columbia and currently residing in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland. I live with my husband, daughter, and our beloved feline overlords.

I studied history with a minor in psychology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (British Columbia,) then decided to do the undergrad experience all over again in a STEM field at Memorial University of Newfoundland. What started as a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical engineering morphed into a Bachelor of Computer Science and then fizzled out into a break from education while I established myself as a working Newfoundland resident rather than a visiting student from BC, for financial purposes. I then took the first 5 year of my daughter’s life off to be a stay-at-home mom and pursue creative endeavours.

I’m an avid reader and aspiring author with a deep love for the Science Fiction & Fantasy umbrella of genres, though I also love historical and contemporary fiction, and I’ll give just about anything a chance if it features magical realism or has strong LGBTQIA+ themes and isn’t erotic romance.

I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and my pronouns are she/they (mix and match!) For the purpose of considering me as an #OwnVoices reader, reviewer, editor, or author, my labels are panromantic demisexual (generalize as bisexual) and demigirl non-binary.

I’m also suspected to be (but not psychologist confirmed, that’s too expensive right now!) autistic, so I can provide the #OwnVoices perspective of a high-functioning autistic female who was not properly screened and accommodated as a child.
